Ronda has expressed the need for a newer vehicle to transport squares and blankets. Helen Flagg has proposed to the US Group that we raise funds to help KAS purchase a car. The idea has gone global and there is an initiative on the forum about it. Check the latest ezine video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VK9mbUrGWI&feature=youtu.be
I didn't know we got birthday reminders how neat. I always wish I had a girl on my birthday they are the ones who think of special things to do. I always tell my boys what to get me or a wish list. i don't know if this is bad to do but I get what I want. Well will write more tomarrow been on this computer too long
thanks Gail I have one more day at 54 I will be 55 tomarrow I always have to stop and think how old I am sometimes. At least I am wiser or so I think and have more life experience. Now the wrinkles are another story. ha ha
Gayle I just heard from Sandy that the first $500 from PP arrived back in May, at least she believes she mentioned it back in the May Ezine. Also Beth Moriarty has been on the KAS discussion boards here and she is like head honcho of PP. Sandy says no bulk arrival from Planet Purl yet but the last she and I heard was that PP was waiting to make a big bulk shipment.
Gayle, send me your email address and I will email the file to you directly -- you can use the Inbox here on the forum. It's a .pdf file, that you can then open up and print the full sheet. I just posted a picture snapshot of what one looks like.
Hello, Gayle! I am a 3-hour drive from the horrible flooding in Nashville and middle Tennessee. I'm in Knoxville in East Tennessee. Thanks for the welcome to this group. It's been fun reading about other KASers and seeing what they've been up to. There is certainly some real talent out there in the knitting ocmmunity! I also love the amount of newcomers who have learned to knit as a result of this call for the children!
thank you for your lovely comments on my group. You certainly do some wonderful knitting for KAS. Yes I love the 'makes my heart want to sing' song too. Keeps my spirit up listening to it.
Hi Gayle, thanks for the lovely comment about my hats. They were done on a loom. It's so easy and relaxing, no need for a pattern and you just change colour when you run out of yarn or get bored of your current yarn - what can be easier.
Happy birthday for tommorrow.
Thanks for your lovely compliment, Gayle !
The little teddy bear is so easy to do I think I will do a few more. Way back when I was still teaching I was given 2 classes of 12 yr old girls and told to teach them to knit and sew - a total nightmare in the beginning. But after a couple of months their faces were a picture when the were able to take their completed teddies home. Admittedly their teddies were bare bears - just sporting a dashing scarf ! Jen xx
Hi, Gayle.........Thank you so much for the sweet birthday good wishes.
My, don't the birthdays roll around faster as the years go by! And thanks
for the nice comments about the KASCuddle. They are so much fun to make!
"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."
Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
