I have had a declutter and decided to slimline my knitting needle stash. I now have a bag of surplus, of various sizes, mostly in pairs. Before I hand them to a local charity, does anyone need any or know a good cause that does? Also,…"
"I actually think this may have been a group project that went nowhere. The tension is as variable as the colours. I'm in the process of joining them into strips and then combining them with some of my own knitting to make a blanket."
"Good thinking Philippa - quite a bit of work there but it's almost a blanket. Why do people put so much effort into such disparate rectangles? Looking at them the colours are quite pretty and it is possible to visualise the finished task."
Just a quick note to let you know that the shipment to KAS has arrived safely. I wrapped all the KAS members offerings separately, so you should see your name on the squares list in due course, as and when the gang get to open the boxes.
There was a document charge of R200 (£12.62) which KAS have paid and I have reimbursed them already.
As it seems to have gone so well I will be sending another shipment. I will probably order the boxes in August to send out in September and you are welcome to send out with me again if you would like to.
Just to let you know that your parcel arrived safely today. The squares are lovely and vibrant and I just love the toys and the go-over.
Would you like me to take a photo of the contents and put it on the KAS site, as I would normally do with my bits just before I send them. This will probably be next week as a I am away for a few days later this week.
A quick PS, send the toys and clothes as well and the books if not too heavy or too many as I have had a good response. I am sure somehow we will manage to squeeze them in. If the books are the little cloth ones as in your photos that would be great.
Your squares will be most welcome. You can send them to me at:
Mrs Ute Sadler, Right Angle Picture Framing, 20 High Street, CORSHAM, Wiltshire, SN13 0ES. I would be grateful if you could just let me know when they have been posted so I can expect them. Love your photos, do you design your own toy (sewn ones) or are they to a pattern. I am a better sewer than a chrocheter! Make lots of really jazzy shirts for my husband. Look forward to receiving your parcel. Ute
"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."
Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
