"How very sad that this has happened. I am trying to find other ways to use the squares I have accumulated. I have really enjoyed knitting for KAS but maybe now is the time for me to move on.
Thinking of turning some into scarves for…"
"my comment about the patterns Brenda would be nothing lacey. It should be a cozy square.
And welcome to the group I live in SW Onntario
We are actually dripping today, water running in the eaves troughs. :-)"
"That's a good one Linda.I never thought about them flowering under the snow. We in SW Ontario have lots of ice and snow. I am concerned about the maple syrup crop this year. It is really nice to hear about spring flowers…"
"Paula, The closest I have ever got to 2 kg was 1.99 kg and there were 79 squares. But it really does depend on the weight of the yarn used. I always take my package to the post office open so that I can extract squares that make the…"
"Oh my goodness. This is really unfair. There must be a better way for us to help KAS without causing them problems receiving the squares.
Linda are you going to post the phone number on the instruction page or should we somehow…"
"Could be but it is a real roller coaster ride. Last Tuesday we had a snow storm. Tomorrow the temperature again will drop to the plus single digits.
But our snow has finally gone and there are daffodils blooming in our garden."
"I am adding the 96 squares that I am sending today
19 Soft Toys
4 Supplies for Gogos
39 Bits and bobs"
"I saw your post Gloria and so I am posting this petition for us all to tell the Post Office to stop the idea of taking away our mail services.
I'm supporting Susan's campaign calling for Canada Post and the Government to reverse the…"
During the last year there was a trial of a Tracker system for recording packages. The idea was that we printed out a label which contained a barcode. This could be read with a scanner as soon as the package arrived in South Africa, and this triggered an automatic email so that we knew the items had arrived. A great system but it has never come into full use. I don't know why - apparently there was a glitch and it doesn't seem to have been resolved. Since last July when it began I have sent over 100 (nearer 200) packets and I received emails for one sent in July and then another couple in November. Since then nothing although I do still use the labels because they're neat and I live in hope. I would love this system to become operative as it is reassuring to receive an immediate email but I am sure that the packages do arrive although the recording and listing takes a long time. Your name will appear on a squares list eventually but I do understand your anxiety.
It was wise of you to have the double mastectomy, especially with your family history. It is sad that your sister had to suffer. I'm pleased to hear that you don't need any further treatment. Our neighbour had the same procedure a few years ago and she is fine and has her regular check-ups.
Did you read that Britt had some good news....though the doctor will be keeping an eye on her, just in case.
I would love to see pictures of the squares you made. 58 + is quite a number ! I was glad to share the wool as I knew you would make the squares in good time. Which means more blankets now that winter is approaching in South Africa. Although I see from the weather network that a snow/rain storm is coming your way (again )
"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."
Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
