I also pour over the EZine that Sandy sends out. I read it twice in fact. I love the pictures and appreciate so much all the effort that is put into compiling and photographing. Still looking for the video with the singing of the people from the Methodist Church. I love harmony. My father taught my sisters and I harmony and I love to sing. I am so excited about K.A.S. .....I want to make everything ....don't we all ? LOL......

I have spent most of my time on the website and pouring over the ezine that Sandy so graciously compiles and have not failed to find information. Plus, the ezine is a marvelous way to see all the faces of this beautiful people. It is humbling to see the gratitude they have for things that seem so elementary. I thank God for all of you and them.

Hi Janet
Much of this information is on the site (3rd menu item, www.knit-a-square.com) - there is a square vest pattern for knitting and crocheting, pullover pattern and a description of the overall project. Some scarves are being sent, although the focus remains on blankets and hats. Because the need is so great across the board, we have not stipulated ages, except for the 10 thousand homes project which is in the June challenge. Hope that you will find all the information you need on the site. Sandy

Hi Everyone! As I read more throughout the various discussion groups, it appears that in addition to squares, hats are sent as well as some other items. Can we also send scarves, gloves, and clthing itwms such as vest and sweaters? What are the age groups and sizes are needed? Thanks for your comments and answers. I hope that you all have a good day.

Best Regards, Janet

There is just so much going on in the site, personal page, groups and the forum and the blog, it is a lot to get around.

I'm sure that after a few weeks, we will all find a rhythm that we are comfortable with - perhaps checking out the main forum to see what the featured articles are, how the monthly challenge is going and then moving into the group discussion. It is really the most amazing resource for communicating with one another once you learn the ropes.

Hi Rosemary

Are you signed up to the ezine "Square Circle"?

http://www.knit-a-square.com/knittingforcharity-ezine.html

The ezine acknowledges everyone's hard work as well as keeping you updated with photos and news of all that's happening in knit-a-square. You'll also find a list of received squares/garments so that you can make sure your contributions have arrived.

Thanks Rosemary.

Kalai.

Just wondering......does this group send out a page or short letter acknowledging our charity work? For example I belong to another charity and we all received a lovely letter of thank you. Usually only one letter. I like to frame them reminding me of how appreciated we are. Thank you.

Paulette was looking for the list of squares received, posted online. You can find them here I was planning to respond by group e-mail, since that's what Pauline had sent, but got a message that I couldn't add the http address.

If you're not already signed up to receive the Square Circle E-zine, I highly recommend it. I was happy to see that the first couple of packages that I had sent had arrived, altho' there are more "other" and less squares listed (but the right total amount). It is nice to know things arrived! The packages took about 10 days to get there, which isn't bad. It can can that long to go from the east to the west coast.

I had no idea there were so many comments, and it looks like a lot more people have joined the group. Welcome to all! Sorry, if I'm repeating answers others have said. I'll try to catch up with the posts. I am computer savvy, but I'm still having some problems navigating this site.

Hi Judith,

There are several tallies going:

1. the square tally in each group as a way to encourage you to keep building on it. As far as I know each group is doing that.

2. I think Kyla is planning to do a tally of all groups and the ravelry forum to add to the monthly tally in both groups. Which is why you should only post your personal tally in one place.

Than in the South African tally - that is a record of how many squares have arrived in South Africa by what dates.

What I post in the ezine is less a tally then just a record of whose sent what.

Phew, I have confused myself!

Kyla, Kalai and I will have a chat and post a guidelines about this soon!

I too have no idea how these things work in spite of some very tecky grown-up children (and even the teenage grandkids) all of whom have an eye-rolling response to some of my questions! I don't know what you want for square count- I send 24 squares in April and just saw them posted in Sandie's count in the most recent newsletter. Will keep knitting as always! Thanks for this opportunity!
