Good afternoon Friends of the Hook and Needles,

Just off to the Post Office with my second parcel - 7 hats and 8 squares - strange numbers but the weight is right!! Have a great afternoon and evening all of you.

Best wishes

Marcia

Just a quick note to say hello to Enid and Liz and welcome to the group! Also a big hello to Kerry - congratulations on your engagement and I hope the move goes smoothly! Fingers crossed for a dry, sunny moving day!

Hi Sue & Group!

Well done for the brilliant work your doing! Its so lovely to see the UK people coming together! Thanks for messaging me and letting me know this group is here. I've been running around like mad! I move in two weeks and may loose the internet for a while but I'll be back!

Don't worry about chatting on Sue, I know all about depression and sleepless nights. Years ago when I was in the same place you are now I only had cross stitch and no one to share it with, I so wish I had this wonderful group of people then. If you ever want to chat just drop me a line!

Hopefully we can make the UK contingent a big happy family!

Hi Suzan - glad you found us and good luck with the photos! I agree James C Brett do some great yarns - the self patterning stuff makes a plain pattern much more interesting. Look forward to seeing the results! Diane

Hi Sue - welcome to the group- I know exactly what you mean about computers! I joined Ravelry around Christmas but didn't contribute to any forums at all until I found the KAS group, it is such a fantastic project that I felt I needed to get involved! Mind you, it still took me a month to work out how to post a picture and I haven't tried it yet on this forum, so good luck with yours!

I'll add you totals to the group totals - you must have been so pleased to see a photo of a child wearing one of your hats, quite emotional I expect. Premmie hats are certainly welcome - as someone said, there is a head to fit every sized hat.

Just starting to knit squares now for the June challenge.
Also, if you are running out of ideas and odds and ends there are some inexpensive fancy acrylic yarns around (for when you are fed up sewing in all those ends!!!). James C Brett Magi-Knit baby DK is great stuff. It is multicoloured and self patterning. I have knitted a top in it - will upload a photo when I have sussed out the technology! It knits quick - easy to watch tv and read whilst knitting as yarn fibres don't catch on needles. It is what I would call a lighter DK yarn - used 4mm(old 8UK) needles (just as good on bamboo or metal needles).

Doing a great job Sue, never mind, it all takes a while to get used to!

I'm so glad that you've seen one of your hats, it makes it so much more real when you can see where all your effort is going hey?

Make sure you look after yourself and your arthritis. Thanks so much for your excellent contribution and we look forward to being in touch too!

Thanks Sue.

Hi Tom - great to have a man in the group! I love the picture of your cat, he's gorgeous. Do you want to add your squares to the count? Please feel free to do so.
