Welcome, Sandra. Not much has been posted here since 2013. Maybe your comment will bring this to life again! Keep exercising and follow your diet. This is a very difficult time of year with holiday treats everywhere. But, you can do it! You will feel better!

The scones were delicious.  I substituted dark chocolate chips and cherries . I'm going to serve the next batch to company on Thursday.

In my quest to find a gluten-free/dairy-free scone I discovered these two web-sites:

Not sure which recipe I'll try but I'm partial to the one with chocolate chips.  I'll use dark chocolate of course :-)

For those of us who can't tolerate coffee and miss our Iced Cappuccinos, I have discovered a tea by Celestial Seasonings called Madagascar Vanilla.  It contains rooibos(South Africans call it red bush ), natural vanilla flavour and vanilla bean.  It is lovely served cold with almond milk and ice.

Jan, a mustard allergy is going to be so "inconvenient"....reading labels more closely and what exactly does it mean by "spice"????  I guess you'll be doing more home cooking.  I'm not good with potato salad so maybe I will have to think about mustard as well.  Thank you for alerting me to this !

If there are signs that the mustard allergy or intolerance gets worse Jan then don't hesitate to obtain and carry a pen at all times - I'm sharing this because a friend lost her lovely 20 year daughter to anthactic shock (sorry can't spell it).  Yes, you are probably right in being a bit sensitive right now, but keep you chin up and all will be well - sometimes we have to accept nature has its own timescales.  Take care.

No I do not have an epi-pen for myself but have 2 in house that are my daughters. I will be a label reader for that now. My sister tolerated sml. amts but that mustard potato salad was very strong on mustard. I am probably extra sensitive right now due to having the cochlear implant and being off balance.  Saw the chiropractor today and was just there 2 weeks ago but still off one one side that I am now leaning to  at times.
