Loom a Square

A place for Loom Knitters to share their knowledge and creativity to benefit the children of South Africa.

Loom knitting has it's own pros and cons. Many special and unique methods of accomplishing what needle knitters do and so we need each other. I hope to meet many other loom knitters here but anyone is welcome.

PATTERN and VIDEOs are on the right side of the page, under the list of members.

Hi gals....sorry I haven't been here. Heat got to me, got heatstroke, again, took me weeks to sort that out. I want you to know I am not ignoring my knitting looms, far from it. Christine I love your two hats, particularly I'm fond of being able to do that fold over brim on the right one. So easy on a knitting loom!
Looma I must say that Bamboo stitch looks awesome. I'm saving it to my knitting folder. Right now I'm heading out of town for 10 days, a triangle trip down to Chicago for a film, game, fiction convention...Wizard World Con and then across to visit my daughter and grandson in South Dakota, so it's a big triangle for us. Today will be very busy packing etc, leaving dog at boarding kennels and so on. Sorry I haven't been here, I still enjoy looming very much, it's fast, my squares are lovely and thick and my hats turn out right not bowl shaped or weird as with other modes. Happy Hooking! See you around the start of September I think. ,I am taking knitting with me but not a loom, a tad too bulky...you wouldn't believe what we're fitting into our small car, including my walker, suitcases and my husband in a corner somewhere, LOL. Ciao for now! (in my thumbnail photo I'm holding a sign about our place being a dandelion farm, it had me laughing for ages)

Wilda - if you alternate the line so that some are higher then others - it looks even more like Bamboo... I tried to keep this stitch pattern as simple as possible so I didn't alternate the hight.

Love that Bamboo stitch. I have some Bamboo in my back yard and love to look at the stalks ( if that's the right term or not )..I always wanted to recreate that look in yarn. So I was surprised to see you posted the Bamboo Stitch for the loom, Denise.
# ChristineDempster I just lovvve your two hats.. Did you use a chunky merino or did you use two strands of merino ? Nice job...one with a rolled edge and one with the folded up brim. I love making hats on the loom. Are they adult size or child's?
Don't mind me, everybody I'm a very inquisitive person.

It's been quiet around here - Thought I would share a new stitch. Just finished converting the Bamboo stitch for the loom...
