Square Circle Forum

Ever wonder what happens with all that mail that arrives in South Africa?  It goes to the KAS Barn where many volunteers SORT everything out to eventually be distributed to local children.

Please check in here on a regular basis to see photos from all the activity in the KAS Barn during 2019.

Thanks for posting these Amy.

I’m delighted to see that Jude’s beautiful rainbow, River John’s parcels and the amazing dolls from Sandra Jones have arrived in the blanket room! :))

Happy dance, Jude, please!!! Congratulations your beautiful - one of them - blanket has reached destination. I can spy your teddies squares on the table. Still hoping to see one with my name on it. I know is there. Thanks, Jude.

Sandra Jones, your Duduzas dolls will bring so much joy to the children. Thanks, Thanks!!

I am so pleased to see that another of my parcels of little dolls has arrived.  These dolls were made for the 'Think Girls' theme last year (July maybe).  There is another parcel of almost 60 dolls sent last May still to arrive, hopefully it will also arrive before April.

Your dolls are going to be such a hit during distributions.

I am in awe by of the number of toys you make in one year.  KAS is very fortunate to have you as a contributor.

THANK YOU

Here are more photos from Ronda from January 15.

It is summertime in SA and Mabel is feeling the heat.  Thank goodness for fans!

Estelle is our ever efficient dishwasher.  Just look at that spotless kitchen.

Packing up squares to be distributed to the gogo groups.  So many blankets are going to be completed soon.

Great pictures, Amy.  Thanks for sharing!  So much work going on in the KASbarn!!!

I was looking at the 6th picture down on this page.  There is a square at the bottom just a bit right of centre that looks like a familiar pattern.  A while back, Patricia and I were experimenting with a 'swing knit' pattern (not to be confused with swing needle technique).

Maybe Patricia will pop in and have a look.  This is the pattern I'm talkling about.  The one in the photo above is not the same color (on my screen it's green and orange), but the pattern is similar, don't you think?  xo

Gosh, Gloria, you're eagle-eyed! This isn't one of mine but I seem to remember Sharon B. had a go at the pattern and maybe someone else, (Lesley?), although I don't recognise these colours. The square you've posted was well worth a second look too - beautifully done.

Thanks, Patricia ;)  And you're right about others giving the pattern a try.  Now I remember that Sharon made one and possibly someone else, too.  Perhaps whoever made this one will see it and let us know :))) ... xo
