Ever wonder what happens with all that mail that arrives in South Africa?  It goes to the KAS Barn where many volunteers SORT everything out to eventually be distributed to local children.

Please check in here on a regular basis to see photos from all the activity in the KAS Barn during 2019.

Our Wandi on January 29

Mabel securing a blanket by crocheting around the perimeter.

Estelle and Liz, a St. Stithians School grandmother working on sorting goodies.

What is always good to do at the end of the month.  Why we wash up the KAS Van and top it off with fuel.

Items received on January 29.

You are never too old to craft for KAS.

Beautiful squares from Pauline Atkinson. Estelle picked these up to sew together.

KAS still received many tops/jumpers and will distribute them one they have sufficient number.

These are some of the full and partial balls of yarn the barn receives.  They are always useful for the gogo groups to finish off their blankets.

More photos from January 29.

At the end of the day on January 29 all the post was opened except one bag.  This bag was collected by Ronda from the West Rand Oncology Unit where patients knit while waiting for their chemo and doctors' appointments.  They call Ronda every 3 to 4 months to collect the squares.

The KAS voluntters will be starting with a clean slate next Tuesday, February 5.  This is the first time this has happened in months.

Thank you Amy for posting these. You are a busy bee with your monthly themes and Sorted....

TOTALLY agree, Estelle.

Thanks so much, Amy!!

Amazing and heartwarming to see soooooo much crafting received from our generous members around the world.

From Estelle February 5

These lovely soft toys arrived from LITHUANIAN today.
Thank you Jurgita Pociuipiene.

Thank you Estelle (and Amy for posting). This blanket was for November’s theme ‘Celebrating yarn’, the variegated yarn is one of my favourites; it’s great to see it in the blanket room!

I love that Marble yarn....so pricey here in the States.

Congrats Chris! This is a GORGEOUS blanket!

CREATECARE GLOBAL

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."

Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
