ANYONE FOR ........ Team KAS

We have just seen another wonderful Olympics, Rio 2016 .

We saw sportsmen and women achieving amazing results. Their dedication and team work has been  successful. We have seen pain, tears, laughter and uniting together in the name of sport.

The Olympics is very similar to KAS and the dedication within our own wonderful organisation.

Ronda is the President of our KAS 'lympics.

Event Organisers.

The South African team. Wandi, Lindi, Joel, Mabel, Estelle, Molly and all the volunteers. Without them the game could not go on.

Referees, adjudicators and games makers - The Mods, working behind the scenes to promote our Olympic events and the stadium ( our forum ).

Our own sportswomen and men.

The forum members. You each deserve a gold medal for your dedication which results in the marvellous  creations that you send to South Africa.

Most importantly we have our spectators  - The children.

Whose smiles and eyes show their appreciation every time another distribution is made and we wrap them in our love.

Every sports person will tell you that their results started at grass roots and they practised and practised to achieve the goals. Let us, KASERs, really get into training and keep practising with the creation of squares, toys, hand warmers and hats.

Thanks Sharon, Just checked the blanket, the mitre squares are slightly larger than 8 inches and yes the navy blue is knitted in strips to join the mitres together.

Ooooh, AWESOME blanket, Sheila..........absolutely love this design......unfortunately, I just know I lack the patience to copy yours. All the sewing together and knitting of those thin strips would drive me spare.

I think some "sweaters" on teddies in the Olympic colors...stripes of the Olympic flag colors, would work very well. By sweater I mean when you get to the torso add the stripes in there, not make a separate sweater.  This looks like an exciting monthly challenge and I think Louise's idea of a Cuddle Bug in Olympic colors is excellent too.   I also am under starter's orders.  Though I just finished packing up a box I think there's room for some more additions in it. I love the bright red scarf on that teddy, it can be made from fleece if knitting that small would drive you spare...it would me, lol.

Jude has taken my suggestion of a KAS Cuddlebug in the colours of the Olympic Rings a tad too far........she spotted this giant cuddlebug in a charity shop this morning and just had to buy him.....he is very, very cute, soft and huggable.   thank Jude xx

Oh, but he is so very cute!!! A great buy, Jude.  :))

He'll get lots of hugs.  Good purchase Jude !

A very interesting start to the month! Thanks Sharon for the KAS'lympic "story".

I really admire the complete blankets that many of our members make, so, I've set myself to a marathon. I'm rather slow but I'm going to try and make a whole blanket in a month. 1 square down already!

Well done Helen , that is the team spirit. That is the great thing with our 'lympics we can all play a part. :))
Good for you Helen......one square at a time and you'll get there. We're all rooting for you. :)))

Great start Helen !

Good luck, Helen! You're on your way!!

Thank you all for your encouragement! As Louise suggested, I am concentrating on one square at a time. Almost finished the 4th square now so it's coming!

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."
