Fabulous ideas brilliantly carried out ✔️✔️
Such neat appliques! The sea side squares are just magnificent.
I couldn't seem to take a decent photo of this blanket as a whole so I've done it in two halves. This is the first time I've made a complete blanket using linen stitch so I had to smile, Lesley, when you said it was one of your favourite stitches as I knew this was what I was working on for your theme!
WOW, Patricia, what a brilliant blanket - I love the colours, the stitch (of course!), the border and the octopus (what is the plural of octopus?) ! A child is going to be enchanted with this!
Patricia, I could sense this was your creation before I saw your name and picture above it. It has your style and flair for toning colours and neatness written all over it. A top class blanket indeed. Love it.
Your octopuses/octopi have found the perfect beach to hangout at, Patricia. I absolutely LOVE the beach colours you have used and the brighter blue really makes them pop!!
What an interesting question you posed, Lesley. I had to google it, as I always remember being taught in school that the plural of octopus was octopi, but it seems it is more common/accepted for them to be called octopuses, but even the different grammar sites didn't seem able to totally agree.....lol.
Thanks, Bev. We were talking about this very early this morning and agreed that if it followed the Latin rule it should be octopi, but could be octopuses (which sounds awful to me!), so I decided to google it, but you beat me to it! Think I'll deal with them one at a time :))
This gorgeous blanket and the chat about octopi vs octopuses reminds me of the Beatles song...."Octopus Garden"
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus' garden in the shade
He'd let us in, knows where we've been
In his octopus' garden in the shade
Perhaps somebody should make a Yellow Submarine to continue the sing-along theme!
Good idea ! Looking forward to seeing your submarine :-)
I had googled submarine graphs at the start of the month, but couldn't see one I really liked.
Go, Patricia!! :))
A stunning blanket Patricia :))
