As you will all know, Ronda in South Africa needs funds to enable her and her wonderful team to continue distributing the blankets, hats, hand warmers and toys that we make and send.
We don’t like to keep asking members to contribute financially, but without the necessary funds, KAS SA would struggle to continue to help the vulnerable children.
We thought it would be a fun idea for members, and perhaps friends and family of our members, to plant a virtual ‘KAS Garden’ by donating $5 for each flower, fruit, vegetable, shrub or tree chosen.
Please choose something from the list and share with us the reason for your choice… it could be a favourite of yours, or a loved one, or perhaps a happy memory.
It may be that what you want isn’t on the list. If so, please tell us what you would like to plant. I hope we can also learn from each other, as what may be favourites in one country may not even grow in another!
It doesn’t matter at all if more than one person chooses the same flower; it will be nice to have something else in common with each other, in addition to our love for KAS.
We hope that over the next 6 weeks our garden will grow, and as it is a virtual garden, all things will grow well together, no matter what the season. The best thing is that there won’t be a bug in sight!

Thank you, Chris. They're gorgeous! I can almost smell their sweet fragrances :))
I've sent my donation to KAS ... xo
Chris, would you please plant a Petunia for Petunia? - pink if you have it - she's a bit of a 'girly-girl'. Petunia came into our lives several weeks ago. She is a Ragdoll cat who was abandoned when her elderly owners both passed away suddenly. We understand she lived outdoors on her own from October, until she was rescued in January. She is presently being fostered by my daughter's family until she gets used to being a house cat again, but she is endearing herself to the family in a big way, and I have the feeling she might already have found her 'forever home'.
This is such a lovely idea! Could you add a sunflower for me? (I have donated!!) I had a sunflower as my logo when had my own business. 10 years ago I was in a very difficult place, someone living near me had a mass of sunflowers in their front garden, everyday I drove past them and they made me smile and lifted my day.
Quick question from someone in the UK Facebook group - do we just make the donation in the usual donation place or is there a separate shop item for this, or........?
Rebecca I just made the donation in the usual way + put my flower choices in the comment section before I completed the transaction.
My Mum had a beautiful fuchsia shrub growing by her front door, so that's what I'd like to plant in her memory please.
My favourite flowers are pansies so please plant a pansy for me. Just made a donation xx
