The Knit-a-square program has inspired volunteers in more than 60 countries to knit and crochet more than 1.5 million blanket squares, hats, hand-warmers and toys. Your efforts are helping to keep the children warm but to keep this operation running every day, we need to extend your love and support.
Your donations are the backbone of financial support for the operations on the ground in South Africa, making it possible for them to continue.
Whether it's helping to pay the rent, a stipend for the gogos to sew blankets, fuel for the KasVan or to cover postal charges of $3.75 US per parcel, you make it possible to keep striving toward warming and comforting the children.
Our goal is to remove the monthly deficit that Ronda and her team have to deal with.
1. Make a donation whenever you are able.
2. Sign up for an ongoing monthly donation (subscription).
3. Shop at the KasShop!

The financials have been updated above for October. Despite "higher stationery costs for banner and labels" and a "payment for annual audit to LDC Accountants," there is a profit of $825.31 US.Yes, that blue line is higher than the red one!
I'm hoping this means that the increased PayPal fees either don't apply or are not having an effect. Keep up the good work, everyone!
Wow!! It seems that there were a lot of us able to provide a little support to KAS in October. Well done and thank you to all. :))
Thanks for providing the update, Andrea. It is sooo good to be kept informed as to how K-A-S is 'tracking'. :))
Thanks, Andrea. Let's hope 'Pay the Customs fee' will continue to be popular.
Good news, I do hope this continues :))
I love the idea of paying for the parcels too, I think this will stay popular for quite a while!
The financials have been updated above for November. What a huge difference!
You'll notice that the chart looks slightly different than in previous months. That wonderful blue line has climbed all the way to over the $9,000 mark! Your generous donations have put us in the black with a whopping $4,643.31 surplus. This will definitely give Ronda some breathing room.
A note from Ronda:
"Overall it has been a satisfactory year at KAS, although total blanket distribution figures are down from last year AND the year before.
We have taken steps to make sure that there will be more efficient record-keeping next year, more details in due course.
We remain hugely grateful to all our forum members and moderators and the contributors … the entire team … for supporting us so wonderfully in 2018.
Until next year ……
Our thanks and best wishes."
Wow Andrea!! That is amazing!!
Here's hoping we can continue this trend in 2019.
Thank you so much for keeping us updated. :))
I'm delighted to see the November total, what a difference! A very positive picture as we move closer to the end of 2018, and hopefully this will continue into 2019 :))
What a great idea...... popping into the KAS shop every time we post a parcel to SA or simply to help financially if we are able.
Thanks Andrea for keeping us informed.
And coming here just reminded me I have a bit spare to hop into the KAS shop. Happy New Year everyone!
