So pretty Gloria.
Hey Gloria lass are you feeling okay?? Ha. These are really pretty pink squares. The swing technique in stripes gives a lovely and different effect to these diagonals.
I'm working with blue now, Karen, so I'm recovering nicely. Thank you for asking ... hahaha ... xo
Super squares, Gloria - I've been thinking of swing needle diagonals, but hesitated because I thought I might get in a muddle (happens too easily these days!), but I'll definitely have to give it a go now - something in mind for next month's theme. Yet again you've inspired me to try something different - thank you :)
Lesley, I would love it if you tried diagonals with swing needles. It really isn't anything too special. It's just like regular swing needle knitting where you knit two rows in the same direciton before turning your work to knit two in the other. This is how I do it.
With ball 1, cast on 3 stitches
Row 1 (Ball 1): Knit 1, increase in next stitch, Knit 2. MOVE & SLIDE
Row 2 (Ball 2): Knit 1, increase in next stitch, Knit to end of row. SWING.
Row 3 (Ball 1): Knit 1, increase in next stitch, Knit to end of row. MOVE & SLIDE
Repeat rows 2 and 3 to halfway as you would a regular diagonal. Complete as you would a regular diagonal by decreasing instead of increasing on every row.
I hope I haven't made it too confusing. If I have, let me know and I'll try again ... hahaha ... xo
Thanks, Gloria, I'll have a go :)
More pink, Gloria?? Gorgeous!!
Shocking I know, Diana. Please don't get used to it ... :)))) ... xo
You are right...there's some "forgotten" balls of yarn I need to hunt out. Right now I'm using a neon tweed, if there ever is such a thing but it's right there on the yarn label, haha. These will be colorful squares. I love all the pictures I am seeing, and the new square patterns, very inspiring! The slip stitch square particularly helps me work in a "not so thrilling" color with a solid neutral like a white and spruce it up. I look forwards to seeing pictures of what people get up to!
The slip stitch square is one of my favourites, Jeanne, but it seems I have forgotten how to count to four...a lot of frustration for not much result, thus far. :((
