Please note that, for data protection reasons Knit-a-Square is no longer naming the creches where distributions are taking place - just the location area.
This decision has been taken after advice, and, we know that members will understand, especially when it comes to protecting the children.
Very wise decision. Thank you Lindi and Thomas
Pam thank you for posting these pictures. I too completely agree with protecting the children. We don't want greedy people raiding them to steal items, or being jealous and causing other troubles.
When looking at many of these faces I find myself praying for protection for them and the people who care for these children as well as for blessings for the children for their futures. I so much want them to have one, to be able to hope, to dream, to break the cycle of poverty, to feel they matter.
I am of course, also praying for a resolution to the package charge. Until it's resolved I'm sending larger parcels, so there's just one charge not 2 or 3. Thank you ladies and gents for all that you do...Lindi, Thomas, Pam, Ronda and everybody. I am working away on squares for the Go-Go's. It's definitely keeping me out of mischief.
Could not support the decision not to name creches more! <3
Sadly Cille, this decision was taken on legal advice, just in case a family member objected to a child's photograph appearing on the internet without their specific permission - and could lead to Knit-a-Square being subject to legal complications. As you can imagine, with the number of children involved, it would not be possible for us to get a signed agreement form every single parent or guardian in the timescale we operate at distributions.
