Welcome to the theme for December:

CLEAR THE DECKS

I'm sure we all have bags or boxes that look like this:

Look at each ball carefully.

Is there enough yarn left to make 1 Plain Jane?

No? Then maybe a 2 colour stripe or diagonal,

a 3 colour stripe, or a granny square?

Or, if you're thinking big, how about taking inspiration from this masterpiece?

Celebrating Yarn November Theme 2018

(Take a bow, Amy from the USA).

Of course it may be that you have a pile of squares waiting for the ends to be darned in. This is the month to finish them off and get them sent to South Africa.

If you like making hats, hand-warmers or toys, this is also the month for you as these are ideal uses for those partially used balls of yarn.

So, no excuses -

there's something for everyone this month -

and think how good it will feel to Clear those Decks!

A gentle stroll down the village will suit me fine, Karen, but who knows, in a few months I might be setting myself all sorts of new challenges!

Great to hear that you are well and truly on the mend, Patricia...a FAB Christmas present, indeed.  :))

Here is my Framed Stripes Square with an extra frame! I think the chain stitch border has worked well. Do you agree, Sharon?

Patricia, It is BEAUTIFUL!   your stitching is always so neat and even, and the bright colors just make me smile!  Now you don't have to worry about size.

P.S.   congrats on your excellent follow-up from medical.   You will be so happy to move freely again.  Take care, and keep up the great work.

Thank you Sharon. I was pleased when your suggestion coincided with what I had in my own mind. I think we've invented a whole new KAS pattern!

For sure a new KAS pattern : Double Framed Stripes !! Well done, Ladies.

Perfect solution, Patricia, and beautifully done!  Glad to know that your medical check-up was an all clear ... xo

This is marvelous!

It looks GORGEOUS with that extra border, Patricia....it was meant to be.  :))

I echo, Sharon - it is so beautiful and I love  your colour combination of pink white and green - very fresh looking.

Using up some bits of red and green to create some Tunisian Crochet stripes.

This pattern is from Beyond Beginner Tunisian Crochet, p. 14

Awesome square. Love the technique used. Thanks.
