Welcome to the theme for December:

CLEAR THE DECKS

I'm sure we all have bags or boxes that look like this:

Look at each ball carefully.

Is there enough yarn left to make 1 Plain Jane?

No? Then maybe a 2 colour stripe or diagonal,

a 3 colour stripe, or a granny square?

Or, if you're thinking big, how about taking inspiration from this masterpiece?

Celebrating Yarn November Theme 2018

(Take a bow, Amy from the USA).

Of course it may be that you have a pile of squares waiting for the ends to be darned in. This is the month to finish them off and get them sent to South Africa.

If you like making hats, hand-warmers or toys, this is also the month for you as these are ideal uses for those partially used balls of yarn.

Pattern on the Month 12-15

So, no excuses -

there's something for everyone this month -

and think how good it will feel to Clear those Decks!

Deborah, I´ve found this motif /the 8 point star/ on You Tube and want to try out different ways/patterns how to crochet it.

This is truly amazing.

Reminds me of my quilting days way back when.

This will make a marvelous centerpiece to any blanket.

A stunning square, Karla - I cannot begin to   think how you stitched it.

Appliques are another good way to use up small amounts of yarn, although after I'd sewn this holly together I realised it could almost double up as a reindeer's head!

Patricia, your holly and berries are gorgeous ... so festive-looking.  I see what you mean about a reindeer's head - Rudolph, likely, with that bright red nose.  The child who receives this in their blanket will make your holly/reindeer into whatever the young imagination chooses ... xo

A delightful and festive . Thanks, Patricia.

Love the idea and fab oddments use ❤️

Super intro Patricia. I love your holly and red and green squares in your intro. Although there wasn’t a Christmas theme this year I love collecting squares for a Christmas blanket, enough trickled in for me to make a blanket. I was going to ask Leanne to mention it in her post - requesting for the odd Christmas squares to arriving during the year.

I love your square Karla.

Estelle, I have some donated red and green yarn that I am crocheting into squares.  I should be sending them to SA in July and I'll make a special mention to you..

Thank you Karla that’s perfect as I only make my Christmas blanket in the latter part of the year.

What a pretty square Patricia!

BEAUTIFUL holly, Patricia......lovely square...makes you want to hang it on the wall as a Christmas pic.  :))
