Welcome to the theme for December:

CLEAR THE DECKS

I'm sure we all have bags or boxes that look like this:

Look at each ball carefully.

Is there enough yarn left to make 1 Plain Jane?

No? Then maybe a 2 colour stripe or diagonal,

a 3 colour stripe, or a granny square?

Or, if you're thinking big, how about taking inspiration from this masterpiece?

Celebrating Yarn November Theme 2018

(Take a bow, Amy from the USA).

Of course it may be that you have a pile of squares waiting for the ends to be darned in. This is the month to finish them off and get them sent to South Africa.

If you like making hats, hand-warmers or toys, this is also the month for you as these are ideal uses for those partially used balls of yarn.

So, no excuses -

there's something for everyone this month -

and think how good it will feel to Clear those Decks!

Such a cheerful square - it will stand out in any blanket.

Terrific contributions already, Patricia.   I love your holly applique and Karla's giant star.

I have a very different contribution … 5 Scrappy squares, made from the short pieces of left over yarn.

Exactly what this month's theme is all about, Sharon. Super examples.

Very pretty squares :))

BEUTIFUL colour combos, Sharon. My fave is the one on the far left....soooo pretty.  :))

What a great use of leftovers, Sharon!  They're all beautiful, but that shy blue and white one peeking out near the end on the right is extra pretty ... :))

Bev, I agree that the far left one has a pretty feature ... that blue in the variegated row ... hahaha ... xo

Oh dear, what am I to do with you, Glo....I am going to have to reach right through the screen and slap (some sense into) you...and I'm not a violent person...honest.....hahaha. I do have to agree with you, the variegated is certainly very pretty...even with the blue....hahaha.....xo

    ...  xo

I love all of them very much, too.

Love your crochet squares, Sharon.  It is hard to pick out my favourite  - I am torn between the fresh blue and white, and the unusual colours in the first square with pink, maeve and purple.   Youhave given me some ideas for colour combinations.

I’m not clearing the decks of yarn, but a large applique that I have had for quite a while, so I decided to use it in a blanket for this month........

For some reason Ning is turning the photo on it’s side

The picture is up the right way on my screen, Chris.  :))

What a STUNNER!! Very striking colour combo...and your butterfly is  divine!!
