Welcome to the theme for December:
CLEAR THE DECKS
I'm sure we all have bags or boxes that look like this:
Is there enough yarn left to make 1 Plain Jane?
No? Then maybe a 2 colour stripe or diagonal,
a 3 colour stripe, or a granny square?
Or, if you're thinking big, how about taking inspiration from this masterpiece?
(Take a bow, Amy from the USA).
Of course it may be that you have a pile of squares waiting for the ends to be darned in. This is the month to finish them off and get them sent to South Africa.
If you like making hats, hand-warmers or toys, this is also the month for you as these are ideal uses for those partially used balls of yarn.
So, no excuses -
there's something for everyone this month -
and think how good it will feel to Clear those Decks!

Great intro, Patricia! Thank you for volunteering to host this busy month.
The free Pattern of the Month - the Framed Stripes square - is another super way to use even the tiniest leftover bits! The pattern is in the KAS Pattern book. Or just click the link in the sidebar to the right ... xo
WOW! What a fun intro, Patricia!! I LOVE it!!
I didn't realize you had a window into my yarn room/s (I'm a bit of a 'spreader'). I have so many 'things' that need to be completed to 'clear the decks'.....thank goodness December has 31 days.....hahaha
Thank you for taking on the hosting of December. xo
It is my contribution to December Theme - Clear the decks.
Karla, your contribution is fabulous! What a beautiful idea. This will be the 'star' of the blanket ;) ... xo
How beautiful, Karla, and very seasonal. I'm afraid I can't beat Gloria's pun but I do agree with it!
Beautiful star and colour choices ✅
Wow, this is GORGEOUS, Karla!! Can't wait to see it pop up somewhere in the South Africa photos. :))
This is so marvelous. Wow Karla! I love the 8 point star in quilting but I've never seen it in a yarn square. Wonderful.
