JINGLE BELLS

Squares are made and  sent to KAS from all over the world. When they arrive, they must be sorted, packed into bundles of 35. Then they are given to the Gogo groups and KAS volunteers to be made into beautiful blankets. They are returned to the KAS workshop and finally travel in the KASmobile to be distributed to the children who need them.

This is why we are jingling our bells early in the year. We want our Christmas blankets to be ready in plenty of time for Christmas

Give free rein to your creative talents. You can make PJ’s, striped or appliqued squares.

Hang the decorations

Trim the tree!Father Christmas and his elves,

Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer,

polar bears

and penguins, they can all come to the Christmas party. There’s room for everyone.

Make this Christmas the best yet for KAS’s 10th anniversary.

AND of course all toys are welcome to share the fun.

The PoM this month is the Alphabet crochet square.

I love this stitch too! which is to say, I love the pattern produced by this stitch. It's still on my challenge list. Your work is lovely Valerie.

A small contribution towards the Christmas theme, a blanket is almost finished.

What a jolly square, Chris.  I am convinced Christmas is just around the corner even though it's mid-April. We are in the middle of an ice storm in southern Ontario.  Lots of power-outs, schools are closed, the ground has turned white again and the shrubs are crusted with ice. Did they cancel Spring this year?

Poor Anne. We moan here because temps are not too high and the rain is stopping us from doing anything in the garden. I usually have my potatoes and onions planted by now and the carrots and peas sowed.  This year......NOTHING!

Having snow in April reminds me of a memorable year  when I was in university in Wales. At the beginning of April we were on the beach in lovely sunshine. We went down for the Easter break and when we came back near the end of April, we had a big snowstorm.

Don't despair Anne, this is what I see when I open my front door. A bit bruised and battered, but a welcome sight nevertheless. Spring is out there somewhere!

I'll keep my fingers crossed, Patricia.  We are still getting rain combined with snow and our power has been out for about seven hours.  It just came back on. Life without spring flowers and the Internet is the  pits!

Thanks, Patricia, for a peek at spring.  Now that I know what it looks like, I'll keep an eye out for it ... LOL

Anne, I wondered about you - whether you had lost power.  Stay safe and warm.  Your storm is heading for us, but we are being told it will be just rain by the time it gets here.  Here's hoping ... xo

I think this may explain a lot :))

Hahaha ... I love this, Lesley!  Thanks for the clarification ... xo

My newspaper today tells me that "Britain is set to bask in the hottest April day for seven years later this week as an "African plume" sweeps over the nation bringing glorious highs of 78F (26C)." I don't want to seem picky but as today I'm still wearing a fleece jumper I'd prefer a more gradual rise in temperature than such a leap!

Same thing happening here in France. The last 2 days have been glorious and today is going to be really hot. Like you, I'd prefer to be let into this gently as I have no idea what to wear.  But the sun is certainly welcome after all the rain we've had.

Yep! that's it!!! Conversations here are the number of people who have pulled their winter clothes back out of trunks.
