POSTING A PARCEL?

Did you know that every parcel
Knit-a-square receives incurs a mandatory handling fee of $3.75 US, charged by the
South African Customs & Excise?
When mailing a package,
it is critical to write
BONA FIDE GIFT FOR CHARITY, NO COMMERCIAL VALUE on your parcel and a declared value of $0 on your Customs Slip so KAS doesn't incur additional postage fees.
Are you sending from the U.S.? Please DO NOT insure your package.

"I'm trying to take my own suggestions in the introduction and make a variety of items this month. Here is the new favourite, the clever hat. I used a brightly coloured variegated yarn with alternate stripes of grey."

KYA SANDS INFORMAL SETTLEMENT

ATHELE DISTRIBUTES TO THE NEEDY

Athele writes: This distribution was emotionally tough for me as this ‘squatter camp’, Kya Sands Informal Settlement, on one border is less than two kilometers away from me (and only four kilometers from one of the wealthiest suburbs in Johannesburg) and holds about 100 000 people in pitiful conditions, no running water, sewers or electricity.

CREATECARE GLOBAL

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."

Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
