I agree with you wholeheartedly Pam.  There are a lot of good people in the world and a lot of good and happy things happen every day.  The news here in the uk only report the bad things.

To : DAWSON, Wisconsin, USA who joined KAS at 15 and has contributed to nearly 200 discussions in the past two years - not quite so often these days as he needs to focus on his school work!  He taught himself crochet in order to help KAS and has posted 34 photos of vibrant squares, some of which must have been very challenging.  By March 2011 he had made over 250 squares, but hadn't been able to afford the postage.  Thankfully one local family heard of this situation and gave him $80 which soon sent 170 sqs on route, and, in June his school PTA enabled another 113 sqs.  In addition, Dawson has provided a flow of ideas, posted flyers in local craft stores and generally spreading-the-word, plus he created the Square-A-Day Group which has 27 members!  At school he encouraged the Leo's Club to start a knitting section and their first challenge is to try and get some retirement homes interested in working for KAS.  For one so young he has consistently shown support for KAS and groups who work for world hunger projects.  He is a credit not only to his family, but to our global knitting family too!
